2004 MLS SuperDraft - 4th round (31st overall). It was the team's 1st pick in the 4th round, which was the natural selection.

Professional Experience

2007: Started 10 of the 13 games in which he appeared at left back…Suffered a concussion on 4/15 in the 15th minute at NY which kept him out of training until early May. It was his third concussion in three seasons which required him to be taken to the hospital (at SJ in 2005; and at Chicago in 2006)…Scored two goals in 5-3 Reserve Team win at CHV on 5/27…Started 6/3 loss at HOU, his first time back on the 18-man roster since the concussion.

2006: Played in 13 of Dallas' 32 games, making five starts…entering the season as a left back, he played at left mid in every game he played in, except 9/30 at CLB when he started at left back…scored the first goal of his MLS career and also game-winning goal, in the 33rd minute of the 2-1 win vs. NY on 7/8 after entering for an injured Carlos Ruiz in the 16th minute…was forced to leave the 3-2 win @ CHI on 7/15 after just 21 minutes after suffering a concussion...then had to leave the 2-0 win vs. Tigres on 7/19 after 11 minutes after suffering another concussion…returned from injury to play the final 55 minutes in the U.S. Open Cup Fourth Round win at Charleston on 8/2…had one assist in eight Reserve Division games, playing 655 minutes and making seven starts.

2005: Made his MLS and FCD debut by starting in the season opener, a 2-0 win over Chicago on 4/2…After starting first seven games, he suffered a bruised kneecap late in 0-0 tie with San Jose on 5/14 which limited to only 17 minutes over the next five games…Returned to action on 6/18 vs. LA and tallied his first career assist on 6/22 vs. Chivas…started 5 of 6 Reserves Games he played in, adding two assists..

Grew up playing for the Colorado Rush, winning six state cups, and regionals with the u-15 teams…attended Rampart High School in Colorado Spring…His first job was as a soccer referee in Colorado when he was 11…Lists his favorite television shows as "The Office" and "Family Guy"…still considers favorite movie of all-time to be "Anchorman"…After 2004 season, entered "5K Frisco Fun Run" under the pseudonym Ron Burgundy, Will Ferrell's character in "Anchorman"…He won the men's 20-24 age group and finished second overall in 15 minutes, 41 seconds in that race…played basketball and ran track in High School…set the 7th grade mile record for Colorado Springs, running in 5:24…trained with Middlesborough following 2005 season for 2 weeks… younger sister Sarah is a member of the Unites States U-21 Women's National team, and played in the U-20 World Cup in 2006…also has younger brother, Greg (23)…grandfathers fought in WWII and Vietnam, and one was a One-Star General in the Air Force… son of Barb and Kolin Wagenfuhr …Married his wife, Sarah, in 2006, and the couple have a daughter named Gabriella - born on Feb. 21, 2008.
