Professional Experience

2007: Was the only player on the 18-man day of game roster for all 37 games in all competitions. Scored first goal of the year and played 90 in 2-1 loss at HOU on 6/3…Scored second goal and tallied an assist the following week in 3-1 win vs. LA on 6/9… Registered game-tying assist vs. DC on 7/14… Scored in 57th minute of 2-2 Reserve tie vs. HOU on 8/19… Appeared in final SuperLiga match vs. LA on 7/31 and scored a goal… Scored penalty kick goal on 9/4 USOC semifinal at Seattle to seal victory for FCD, sending team to USOC final…Thompson's goal in the 64th minute of the Open Cup Final was his fourth In Open Cup play, tying him with Jason Kreis for the all-time Dallas lead…Registered first career multi-goal game when he scored twice at CLB on 10/6 (in the 86th and 89th min), including the game-winner to clinch a playoff berth..was named MLS Player of the Week for his performance…One of three players to score in each of the team's three competitions this year, along with Ruiz and Alvarez (regular season, SuperLiga, and U.S. Open Cup).

Personal

A NSCAA and Parade All-American while at W.T. Woodson High School where they won the AAA Virginia state championship in 2000…The Gatorade Virginia High School Player of the Year, he was also named the Washington Area Soccer Association striker of the year…A first team all-state selection in 2000, he tallied 84 goals and 18 assists as a four-year starter…Played for Braddock Road Warhawks, which captured the Virginia State club title three consecutive years (1997, `98, `99) as well as the 1999 U-17 national championship... Was also recruited by Indiana, Duke, Clemson, South Carolina and Wake Forest… Has been teammates and best friends with current FC Dallas defender Clarence Goodson at W.T.
