Acquired

2007 MLS SuperDraft - 2nd Round (14th overall). The pick was Toronto FC natural second round selection, which FCD acquired on Nov. 17, 2006 along with defender Adrian Serioux, in exchange for midfielder Ronnie O'Brien going to Toronto.

Professional Experience

2007: This is his first year as a professional. When selected, was the second-youngest player ever to be selected in an MLS SuperDraft, following 14-year old Freddy Adu in 2004.

International

2008: Appeared in all but one game for the U.S. U-20's at the Campos Verde International Tournament in Beja, Portugal.
2007: Appeared for the U.S. in all four matches at U-17 FIFA World Cup in South Korea, which included current FCD teammates Brek Shea and Josh Lambo…In Dec. 2007 was called up to U.S. U-20 camp in Argentina, where he played all three games against Argentina, River Plate, Uruguay.
2006: Joined U.S. Soccer's U-17 Residency Program in 2006.

Personal

Originally from Ethiopia, his family moved to Kenya for one year when he was eight, which is when he started to grow fond of the game soccer…Moved with his family to Minnesota in 2003, where Ibrahim's father had been living since 1998… played on a Richfield U-15 team at age 12 and once scored nine goals in one game, all before sitting out the final 25 minutes…entered Richfield High School at age 12, and made All-State Second team as a freshman after scoring eight goals…as a sophomore, scored 21 goals and added 20 assists, which earned him First Team All-State honors…scored 10 goals with 11 assists his junior year before injuring his collarbone, however was once again selected to the All-State first team…at age 13, went to Argentina with Regional II ODP team, where he caught the attention of U.S. Soccer youth coaches and was asked to attend the U-17 Residency Camp in Bradenton, FL…while at Residency, attended been at the nearby Edison Academy, graduating in May 2007 at age 15...received his United States citizenship in 2006… reads the Quran, the books the Muslim religion…got his drivers license in Jan. 2008…listens to rap, listing Lil' Wayne, TI, and Snoop Dogg as his favorites…favorite show is Prison Break…goes by the nickname "Ibee".
