Professional
2008: Made a career-high eight regular season appearances with one start, all coming under head coach Schellas Hyndman…Played right back, left midfield and right midfield…Started his first game of the season, and second of his career, on 9/4 vs. Colorado… Made 18 additional appearances (all competitions) on the 18-man day of game roster…Started 11 Reserve Division games and notched the equalizing goal in the 90th minute against LA on July 28…Promoted to the Senior Roster on May 7, filling the open spot which was vacated when Alex Yi retired.2007: The second-year defender made his first career MLS start / appearance on 10/20 in 2-0 loss to KC, playing the full 90 at right back…Made his professional debut in USOC 3rd Round win over Atlanta, entering with three minutes left in regulation and playing the full added extra time period…Started and played in nine of the team's 12 Reserve games and tallied one assist…Was diagnosed with a right foot injury on May 1 and returned for the Reserve Team's 5-3 win over Chivas on 5/27.
2006: Did not see action on the first team during the season, though was named to the 18-man roster for the first time in the 1-0 win vs. HOU on 9/2… Played in all 12 FC Dallas Reserve Division games, making 10 starts and playing a team-high 986 minutes…Played both center back as well as right back…Entered in the 84th minute of the 2-0 win vs. Tigres on 7/19 (first-leg of the Rio Grande Plate)…spent 10 days in June on loan with the Minnesota Thunder of the USL First Division, playing three games in that time…returned to the Thunder on 7/26 and played one game for them before returning to Dallas on 7/31.

2005: All-College Cup Team… Was captain of the NCAA College Cup Champions…Started all 25 games and managed two assists from the back ... Helped Maryland to 11 shutouts in his senior year on the way to the championship ... His 20 career assists are tied for ninth-most all-time at Maryland.
Personal
Graduated early from Wilde Lake High School in Maryland and began training with Maryland in the spring of 2001…At Wilde Lake, his team won the 3A state championship his freshman year...a three-time all-state pick, he was named first-team all-county three times...he was also a member of the state ODP team for five years...played club soccer for the Soccer Association of Columbia and then the Soccer Club of Baltimore…Earned a degree in American Studies from Maryland…The son of Ralph and Pamela Dello-Russo, his full name is Michael James Dello-Russo...has one sister, Michelle… as a fan of the New York Yankees and their shortstop Derek Jeter, wore the same # 2 his last two seasons in Maryland…after wearing #22 his first two seasons with FCD, changed to #2 for the 2008 campaign…Enjoys playing golf, and his grandfather once played in U.S. Open Championship (golf).
