FRISCO - Sueño MLS, the nationally-televised search for America's best undiscovered young soccer player, will expand to Dallas in 2008 as another set of aspiring young soccer players will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in an effort to earn their way onto the FC Dallas roster. This Sunday, January 27, Major League Soccer will unveil details for Sueño MLS 2008 live on Univision's sports magazine show "Republica Deportiva" (10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon CT).

In its inaugural year of 2007, Sueño MLS attracted an overwhelming 2,000 hopefuls from dozens of states and several foreign countries to Chivas USA's open tryout. After four weeks of intense competition, forward Jorge Flores, a 17-year old high-school senior and part-time church janitor from Anaheim, CA, was crowned the winner. Flores not only earned a spot on Chivas USA's roster, but he was later named to the United States Under-20 National Team.

This year, Sueño MLS will take place simultaneously in Dallas and Los Angeles, with young hopefuls aiming to earn a spot on the FC Dallas and Chivas USA rosters, respectively. FC Dallas will begin the 2008 season against Chivas USA on Sunday, March 30 at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas at 2 p.m. CT.
